Leaving Los Angeles
If you haven't heard the news, it's true: I'm moving.
Those "in this economy" jokes have become my reality. After 15 years in Los Angeles, my savings, like the region's reservoirs, have run dry. And while I know plenty of other people face inequality on a far larger scale, the cost of living has crept up on me too. Yes, even me: a single, childless person with a full-time job at a successful company. My daily expenses far exceed my ability to sustain my livelihood. I’ll be departing in the coming week(s). Until then, I have a lot of stuff to offload.
As a Taurus, I find it incredibly difficult to part with sentimental items, but I need to minimize my footprint before this next chapter in life.
That chapter takes me home to Ohio, where I'm looking forward to:
• Watching my nieces and nephews grow up
• Arguing with my siblings face to face
• Keeping my parents informed on politics & pop culture, even if they beg me to stop
• Volunteering at my precinct on Election Day
If you've stuck around this long, I'm honored and impressed.
I want you to know, if we don’t get to say goodbye, I'll be returning in mid-November to host a farewell party. After that, you probably won't see me for a while, but this is where you can follow along on my journey.
